Our Gratitude for Your Donations

Dr. John C. Lowe
Director of Research

On behalf of everyone affiliated with FRF, I want to express our gratitude for your tax-deductible donations to our research and educational organization. It is through your donations that we're able to continue working at our two main objectives: (1) ongoing clinical studies of fibromyalgia patients, the underlying causes of their symptoms, and effective treatments for them; and (2) education of patients, the general public, and different types of health care professions about the true nature of fibromyalgia.

We received and always deeply appreciate donations from many people who support our work through FRF. My heart is always especially warmed by memorial donations to FRF. These are donations from family members and friends of fibromyalgia patients who have passed on. Family members or friends often send photos of their deceased loved one. I keep copies of these photos in my home office, and I often pause when working to look into the eyes of  the patients in the photos. (Some of these photos are posted on our Memorial page.) I do this to remind myself who the people are that we at FRF work for: fellow human beings who are burdened with pain and suffering.

The faces in the photos keep something crucial to me in the forefront of my mind: that through fibromyalgia patients’ own efforts, and through the help of their health care practitioners, our work at FRF can make life better for the patients while they are with us, reducing or fully freeing them from their pain and suffering. By helping them in these ways, our earnest hope is that they stay with us longer, with our work having made them healthier and happier fellow travelers through this life.

We're also grateful for those who make "workplace pledges" to FRF. I sometimes regret that we never meet or communicate directly with these donors. If we did, we would thank them personally. We receive their donations indirectly through organizations such as Caring Connection of Denver, Colorado. When we receive these donations, we're reminded that many people we may never meet in person know of and appreciate our work, and that they judge it worthy of their support. My hope is that they donate because they themselves or a loved one has improved or recovered from fibromyalgia through treatment based on or research.

As a supporting donor, please accept the deepest gratitude of all of us at FRF.
